Easter weekend was a blessed days. It started out on Good Friday with Savannah having a friend spend the night. Savannah, Dalton and I went to pick up her friend, Mendi (they have been best friends since kindergarten) and headed to the movies. We saw The Diary of the Wimpy Kid. Savannah loves the books and has most of them. The movie was cute and funny. I thought it might be a little bit funnier with the commericals they showed but I believe they showed all the funny parts on the commericals ( I do not like it when they do that). When then came home and the kids played at the house, dolls, Wii etc..
Saturday, I got up early because I couldn't sleep very well. I got up got my coffee made and started breakfast. I don't usually cook breakfast on Saturdays but I decided I would this Saturday since we had a guest. I cooked pancakes, bacon and cinnamon rolls. It all turned out great and the kids enjoyed it. They played some more Wii, and then we got ready to go to the skating rink. We met Mendi's mom, Deanna, her aunt, Mandy; her cousins and her step sister and friend. We had a great time skating. I even put on some skates. Figured I would be sore the next day but I wasn't thank goodness. Lol. After all the fun that morning, we came home and relaxed a little bit and cleaned up the house.
Saturday night, we started dying the Easter eggs. Even though I've learned that both my children do not believe in the Easter bunny any more (I knew Savannah didn't but I learned this year that Dalton doesn't either) they still wanted to color eggs. We colored lots of eggs and I believe we got more dye on us than on the eggs. lol
Easter morning, I got up early again, started my coffee and started cooking some sausage. My family LOVES sausage. They also ate some of their colored Easter eggs. We then got ready for church. Great worship service at church as always : ) After church we went to Nana's (my mother in law) and ate Easter dinner; ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls. For desert was home made cupcakes. The weather was wonderful, we all went to the pond and did some fishing with Dorothy, Randy, Casey and Nathan. I did not catch any but the kids caught some little fish and so did some others, and Papaw (my father in law) caught a good looking bass. But he put him back afterwards b/c that was the only good size fish caught.
All and all the weekend and Easter day was a blessed day. I thank God every day for the family he blesses me with. : )
I hope everyone had a blessed Easter.
